Story behind the recipe:

Sometimes you just want a milkshake or smoothie, but you want it to be healthy. Allergy Girl really wanted a strawberry milkshake/smoothie and was determined to make a healthy one on the fly with whatever she had on hand. It turned out delicious!

Protein... So you have many options for protein. You can use a designated protein powder of course or flax, okara flour (it wouldn't be soy free, but if you like soy then you do you), walnuts, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, oats, or make it more of a pb&j situation and add peanut butter or sunflower butter, almond butter, etc. Allergy Girl's favorite is flax because it also has great omega powers and can help balance your hormones. You can add as much protein as you wish, just keep in mind the more you put the more it will taste like that protein. If you stick to the amount on the ingredients then you won't taste it at all (unless it's a nut/seed butter).

Kid friendly! As mentioned above, you can't taste the added protein if you do it right so kids will just think this is a tasty strawberry milkshake/smoothie. You might even be able to trick them into thinking this dessert. It's pretty delicious and very refreshing. Plus the added collagen is SO GOOD for you in so many different ways.

Collagen is essential for the digestive system, and the skin. It helps strengthen the lining in your intestines and stomach which can be very important if you have allergies because when you eat something you're allergic to your lining gets damaged trying to digest something it simply wasn't meant to. It's anti aging because it restores the elasticity in your skin and plumps you up meaning that scaring is less visible (it can also help heal it). It also helps restore and uphold the protective barrier that your skin naturally has to protect it from dirt and other environmental junk so you are less likely to have skin problems such as acne, blackheads, etc.
