Story behind the recipe:

Watermelon is the most refreshing in the summer, it just hits the spot. So what better way to refresh yourself on a hot day than to have a watermelon smoothie with a backup flavor of strawberry and hints of lemonade! This recipe requires no added sugar, so you don't have to feel guilty about this indulgence.

If you like things more on the sweet side and/or enjoy your syrupy blended drinks from coffee shops then just add 1 cup of sugar and you'll get the same effect. If you don't like things extra sweet and you're not aiming for a desserty type drink then you'll be satisfied without the sugar for sure. This is super kid friendly and you can even turn these into popsicles if you have extra left over or just want to create some yummy cold snacks for later.

Quick tip... Often times it's challenging to find frozen watermelon, but don't worry this is a super easy fix. Just buy a watermelon and cut it up or buy some already cut up watermelon and freeze it in a ziplock. It might stick together, but if you just slam it down on the floor (fun project for the kiddos or a satisfying relief of tension for you) it should all break apart very easily. You also don't have to get diced strawberries, they can be cut, whole, etc.

Show us a picture of you with your refreshing drink or your kiddo with this delicious fruity smoothie!
